What have I been keep in the dark about. I just got off this Ferris IS 2100Z for the first time today. After having it dropped off yesterday.
I used my new mower today for the first time. I have to say I will look forward to it next week. Before I did not want to look out the window and see how tall the grass was getting. It had been 2 week between cuttings.

Last year on my old green beast it would take me between 2 and 3 days and my back would be so so bad.
What took me that long last year only took me just short of 3 hours/ yes 3 hours today and my back is good. 3 hours.

Do not take my word for it go my your local dealer and take a test ride, before you put out your hard earned money.

I spent the entire winter researching which zero turn to buy. Narrowed it down to Scag, Hustler and Ferris.
Had decided on a Hustler mainly because the deal was to good to pass up. The night before I was to take delivery of the Hustler I stopped by the Ferris dealer to look at the IS2100Z one last time. This time I took it for a spin. Price became less important. I knew this was the mower I wanted. I even splurged for the premium Kohler EFI engine….no regrets there.

This mower is one of the few major purchases I can honestly say has 100% lived up to expectations. In fact it has exceeded my expectations.
The ride is great. I thought maybe the springs and shock absorber thing might be just a gimmick…nope! It honestly works!
The Kohler engine with EFI was worth the money. I mow every chance I get even if the lawn doesn’t need it.

As an engineer I marvel at the amount of thought that went into the deck and suspension system and the way they are tied together with rods and levers. Further the machine is built like a tank without being overbuilt where it need not be. No 1/2″ thick front wheel fork attached to an undersized front frame member.
In short nice work Ferris…its good to see some companies still understand what really makes a great product.

After 15 years mowing some rough acreage with my compact tractor my back is tore up. I went looking for a Zero Turn that that would cut well and save my back or I would have to stop mowing. My research lead me to the Ferris mowers with suspensions and although somewhat sceptical I went to my local dealer to see one. While there they insisted I try out one and I picked the IS2100z with the adjustable cushioned seat and 28hp, EFI Oil Guard system, fantastic design and appearance, great position of the controls.

They said make sure to run it where the roadway had been widened on their property and was left in rough condition. So I did and needless to say I was amazed at how the IS2100z floated over what would have been bone jarring bumps and depressions! I couldn’t believe it so I did it a couple more times faster, It is simply incredible, and fast too!

Fast forward; I mowed my place for the first time with this mower today and I swear I actually enjoyed it and look forward to doing it again. It took a little while to get used to the stick controls and I gave a fence post a pretty good shot but it’s ok and once I got use to it, it was a blast.
